How Much More Will You Take?

Change is so hard. I know, I’ve been there. But I guarantee that avoiding change is much harder!

You see, staying in a bad situation takes more energy than facing change. Avoiding it is like trying to give birth but you never finally reach the point of receiving that beautiful new life you worked so hard to create. Instead, you are in a state of perpetual labor pain.

Never given birth? Here’s another example. Imagine trying to pass a kidney stone but your fear of change makes you hold on so tightly, it never passes.

Doesn’t sound very pleasant, does it?

That’s what life is like when you avoid change.

Let me illustrate:

“Marcy” is very frustrated. Though she is good at her job, she feels micromanaged and overlooked for her efforts. She works hard but feels underappreciated and invisible. She thinks often about getting another job but there seem to be limited options out there. She’s tried to speak with her boss but it falls on deaf ears.

“Marcy” feels alone and frustrated. She puts in long hours because it’s her nature to do her best. She has a strong work ethic that others seem to easily take advantage of. She notices she’s more irritated with co-workers and family, which makes her feel worse.

To add insult to injury, she was passed over for a promotion to someone who is far less deserving. Given all she puts into her work, she does not understand why she is not recognized more. She dreams of leaving and even entertains the possibility of changing careers altogether. Then fear sets in and she stays.

How much more will “Marcy” take before she finally looks honestly at her situation?

Are you like “Marcy?”

Change is the one certainty we have in life. You will face it one way or the other. But you have a choice. You can either face it with your permission or without (with your permission is so much better).

Here’s the good news ~ it’s actually not as hard as you think.

How much more will you take before you do something?

Are you finally ready to feel heard, understood, valued, and appreciated?

Stop waiting for the right time. Now is the right time!
