Number ONE killer of dreams . . . not what you think

Do you have dreams? What’s on your bucket list? Do you even have a bucket list? (if not, we really need to talk!)

I know you have dreams. They might be buried deep down but they are there.

The problem is, you go through life thinking these dreams will finally happen yet, somehow, you are another year older and in the same place. Nothing has changed, except maybe your dreams.

You start to wonder, maybe it will never happen. Or worse, you keep holding onto it, believing it will happen someday but that day never comes.

The worst thing you can do is reach a ripe old age and realize none of the things you really wanted to happen in life ever did.

You realize you never took that trip to the Grand Canyon or swam with the dolphins in the Florida Keys or went scuba diving in Australia or saw the Northern Lights from an Alaskan Cruise (these are my dreams, by the way).

What are your dreams?

This is the point where you start to say “yes Britta, I do have dreams, but . . .”

I realize unexpected things happen and may change the vision of your dreams. I also know your dreams are not the same as mine. Maybe you want to go to see a Broadway show or get a tattoo or just go to dinner and a movie more often.

The point is, you can live your dream but only if you combat the ONE killer of dreams ~ LACK OF CLARITY!

“There is nothing so wasteful as doing with great efficiency

that which need not be done at all” ~ Peter Drucker

You thought I was going to say fear, right?

Well, fear is a big part of it but when you spend a ton of time doing something really well and it has nothing to do with your dreams, you’re wasting your time.

If you’re like me, and a lot of people today, you waste a lot of time, giving the illusion that you are really busy. Like spending time watching TV or on social media or sleeping. Now, there is a time for all of these but if they are taking up your time more than they should (this is the getting really honest part), then you need to re-evaluate.

Don’t get me wrong. If you have dreams and they are not happening because of too much TV, then you have two things to look at: 1) maybe your dream is not as important as you thought, so change the dream, or 2) stop watching TV and get going. Either way, you win. Then you are living true to yourself.

If you’re not sure how to figure out what’s happening or even what you want, let’s talk.

Consider coaching with me

Sometimes having another person help you work through what’s happening can be hugely helpful. Besides, I’ve been there, done that! There was a time when I was not living my dreams and had to readjust. Now, my life is completely different, and the best part, I’m always re-evaluating my dreams and what I need to do to get there. I can teach you what I did!
